It’s that time of year again when Linc and I dust off our bikes, pull on our PMC jerseys, and renew our hope and purpose — a powerful reminder of why we ride, give, and support the incredible work of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

There are countless reasons to support Dana-Farber. Its clinical trials program is one of the largest in the country, offering more than 1100 studies each year. Remarkably, these efforts have contributed to the advancement of over half of all cancer therapies approved by the FDA in the last seven years. But beyond the science and breakthroughs, what truly sets Dana-Farber apart is its spirit — a unique culture of compassion, care, and humanity. It’s a place that puts patients first and never, ever settles for “good enough.” Dana-Farber is not just where cancer is treated — it’s where lives are lifted, and bold science meets endless compassion.

Since it’s founding in 1980, the Pan-Mass Challenge has raised over $1 billion for Dana-Farber. Today, it stands as the largest single contributor to both Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund, providing 66% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. And importantly, 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber.

Through the Pedal Partner Program, PMC cyclists are connected with pediatric oncology patients from the Jimmy Fund Clinic — the very children receiving the most advanced care thanks to these funds. This year, our team is once again honored to ride for 9-year-old Declan Vail, who is bravely battling brain cancer. Declan has just started a new targeted therapy that eliminates BRAF brain tumors in 80% of patients — a breakthrough made possible through Dana-Farber’s cutting-edge research. We are all rooting for Declan!

Last year I raised $12,500 and I’ve set that same ambitious goal for 2025. In the current environment of significantly reduced government funding for cancer research, funds raised by the PMC for the Dana-Farber are all that more critical. I hope you’ll join me and support this vital cause.
