Hope you are enjoying your summer and had a great 4th of July weekend. This year, as I have been training, I've spent time reflecting on those impacted by cancer recently. For some, I’ve witnessed the compassionate care, steely determination, courage and steadfast hope since cancer has come far too close for some of my family and friends. And, Dana Farber has been an amazing resource for some of my loved ones. I remain in awe of their dedication to patients, ground breaking research, clinical trials, treatment, and prevention.
The Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) is August 3rd and 4th. In January, I committed to 172 miles over 2 days and I feel so fortunate to ride in my 24nd PMC. Your support makes it possible for me to represent you, your loved ones and be part of this inspiring, committed community of volunteers, cyclists, cancer patients, doctors, nurses and supporters. While the training is still challenging, the fundraising even more so, and each year, I humbly request your support, Your support makes it possible for this ground-breaking research and prevention.
As many of you know, I began riding on a dare from my grad school classmate, Doreen Murray, (pictured below) who was undergoing chemo and riding in the one-day event, and it’s an honor to continue to ride in her memory and on her team, now Team Duncan.
I've made a personal commitment to raise $10,000, to do my part in raising $75M this year. I hope you can help me reach this important goal by clicking on this link to donate directly or send me a check made out to PMC. Every dollar counts and 100% of every dollar goes directly to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
I’d be honored again to ride for a special person in your life, their spirit, inspiration & courage keeps me pedaling. It is custom to ride with names on our bikes to honor those who have battled this disease. Each name provides inspiration and represents courage – it’s a privilege to ride for each one.
Thanks in advance. Take care and be well.
Linda
