Why I Ride ...
Dear Friends, June 2024
August is fast approching and I am deep into my training for my 28th PMC ride.I have again requested all of my funds to go straight to our local affiliate of Dana-Farber, South Shore Health, right here in South Weymouth. This part of our local hospital provides state of the art cancer care right here on the South Shore with no need to travel all the way into Boston for treatment.
As I look back on my years of riding, this event has become an intergral part of my life.. I look at this event as an opportunity to donate to Dana-Farber so they can provide life-saving treatment for patients in need. This year I will be riding with over 65 ribbons on my back during the ride, one for each person I personally know who has been diagnosed with this deadly disease.
We must find a cure as it is a disease that affects too many people. Treatments are impoving but we must find a way to end it completely. I am proud to say that over the years Dana-Farber has generated over 50% of all cancer treatments in the world. 50%!! If you have donated to me over the past 28 years, please take pride in knowing you are part of the reason Dana-Farber is making such big strides toward finding a cure.
