#PanMass2018: Why I Ride….2.0
Hi Friends!
It’s that time of year again. I foolishly ride my bike 84 miles down to the cape on back roads while asking you, my dear friends and colleagues, for donations to support cancer research through the PanMass Challenge. My first ride last year was so inspiring, I immediately committed to signing up again. Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
In 2017 alone, committed riders, donors, sponsors, and volunteers joined together to contribute $51 million to the cause. A big thank you to those of you that donated last year! I value your donation so much that I am again reaching out. Help me see what we can do in 2018.
My family has been touched by cancer, as I am sure everyone else’s has been too. I am one of the lucky ones though. We call it the “C word” at my parent’s house with happy hour often being a toast to good health. My mom had a rough battle, but currently is in the clear, which we celebrate each year. I firmly believe that with enough research, possible because of organizations like Dana-Farber Cancer Institute obtaining funds directly from the PMC, we can make progress in fighting off this disease.
I’m riding not only to raise funds, but to raise awareness. Keep up with your cancer screenings, have your family and friends do the same, donate here to support critical research efforts and clinical trials(through my webpage) and lead a life full of healthy choices.
Cheers to good health and thank you so very much for your support!
