I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
7 years ago I rode in honor of one of my closest friends and now i can say that after many ups and downs she is living proof of a true survivor. I had my doubts as we pulled into Wellesley that morning..... it was torrential down pours. It was something I felt like I needed to do but wasn't sure if I was capable. The only thing that pushed me along was If she can go through what she is going through, I can do this over and over in my head. Cold, pouring rain then a flat tire.....Seriously the thought of quitting went through my head a few times. I waited on the side of the road alone and cold. Now if you know me this is my luck. A few tears and a quick pep talk and a new tire later was on my way because at the end of the ride to Bourne was my beautiful friend and family.
This year was a last minute ride for me,and a little different. I'll me riding from home on my Peloton as a reimagined rider. I will ride Sat./Sun. for a total of 44 miles.
#44 is my father-in-laws race car number.Unfortunatly, March of this past year he past away after a battle with the awful demon.Alot of you reading this know how amazing of a man he was.It was him that I know meaning of being selfless for the ones who matter most. One of the strongest men I have had the privilege of having in my life. He was a father, son, brother, grampy and friend. As each day passes his memory lives on. I'd give anything to have him back. This one is for you gramp, I LOVE YOU
If you would like to donate, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless
