I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
Truthfully, it's difficult to capture the multitude of reason for riding......The pain of losing my Mother and Father to this dreadful desease lead me on the path to ride. I knew I had to participate for them and for anyone else who is fighting cancer. I feel blessed to be able to ride with my colleagues at LM and for our team Paper i who have stories of their own and we will together help raise money to find a cure.
My Mother was always my biggest supporter (next to my Father) my entire life. Losing her was like losing a part of myself. She dedicated her entire life helping people (nurse for drug & alcohol rehabilitation) and left a piece of herself in everyone she touched. She donated blood and platelets long before she was diagnosed, because she wanted to help make a difference in the cure for cancer. She had a smile that would light up a room and exuded warmth and kindness to all her friends and family. She cherished her husband Gordon and adored her children & grandchildren. We were loved each and every day.
While ultimately cancer took my Mother's life in August 2017 (and my fathers a few years later), she left a legacy of generosity, strength and grace beyond words. My Mother's strength will be my motivation as I ride this year and with each mile I pedal, PMC brings researchers closer to finding a cure.
I would be honored if you consider sponsoring me and will ride to honor your loved ones.
Together we can help find a cure.
