This year I ride for Linda Meloro, a fellow PwC PMC rider working to survive. I also ride in honor my close survivors. My twin brother Kelly on long term chmo. Our fellow rider Mark back in the saddle after chemo for metastasis. My friend Lynne' finished surgery and on chemo. I ride for them and will no doubt cry and pray for them on different parts of the ride, My cousin Bill who is recovering from Stomach Cancer.. My buddy Karim working through immunotherapy and neuropathy. Unfortunately, I could go on.
I ride because I am incredibly lucky. I have a cancer gene that causes colon cancer and skin cancer among others. Again this year my colonoscopy found a few precancerous polyps in my colon and my dermatologist remove a few benign skin lesions keeping my cancer prevention journey ongoing.
May more of us be given the life saving care that I have received. May more treatments be developed that help others who are not as lucky.
I ride to raise money to fight cancer and I ask for your support. Every little bit you give adds up and results in over $1B of dollars invested directly in fighting cancer from this ride, the PMC.
I ride for all my supporters and their causes who support my weekend of riding and fundraising. I ride the PMC in memory of my Grandmother Eloise, my Grandfather Kennard, my father Harry, my Aunt Gloria and my Great Uncle Joe who all battled cancer I ride for the those in our family who carry our cancer gene and beat their cancers, Brother Chris in the last few years, Aunt Maggie and cousins Deb, Bill and John who provide us hope that cancer can be beaten
I ride for the doctors at Dana Farber and their partners at MGH and Brighams who help me work to prevent my cancer gene from starting a cancer. I ride for the researchers working to find cures so that when Kaden and his cousins who have our gene get the best screening and treatment techniques to limit the impact of our genetics. I ride for all the colon cancer patients I've worked with or indirectly touched at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. And I ride in hope that cancer will be beaten for everyone touched by it
And I ride for better health and to enjoy a great weekend supporting a worthy cause. I am very proud to be a partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers who is providing support to the PMC so that all your donations go directly to Dana Farber projects.
And again this year I look forward to a more sane weekend, two days and 190 miles.
Thank you for your support
