I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
It has been one of my great joys to ride four times previously in the PMC. I'm very fortunate to get to ride in a fifth. For me, the PMC has always been an incredible and uplifting event, one that I've been honored to be a part of in helping raise funds for the PMC's charge to beat cancer. In years past I was riding for a cause, for friends and their family members, and to be involved in a community effort. Like last year, 2025 is grounded in a much deeper personal experience. I am riding in memory of my late husband Sean, father of my sons Connor and Trevor.
Sean M. Fox at age 59 was diagnosed with liposarcoma in February 2021. Sean lost his battle six months later to this very rare and aggressive type of cancer. Sean was previously at the top of his game; a thriving and healthy husband, father and friend, a viable part of the lacrosse community as coach and mentor, as well as a successfull executve. This year I will ride in Sean's memory, and in support of the PMC's mission to raise money for cancer research and treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Both Trevor and Connor have been involved in raising funds and awereness toward liposarcoma / cancer research. Connor, along with his teammates from Brown University, Tom Hale and Ben Baranker, co-founded The Hope Street Foundation where they have raised over $4.13 million. In 2022, their Lacrosse for Life head-shaving event raised over $1 million (with all proceeds to The Sean Fox Fund at DFCI) to benefit liposarcoma research for Dr. George Demetri and his team at DFCI's Sarcoma Center. Trevor and his teammates at both Holderness School and Hobart College have been involved in four successful fundraisers which directly benefitted DFCI.
On August 2nd and 3rd it will be my honor to ride 187 miles in this years PMC to help raise funds where every dollar goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Along with my sons, I am dedicated in Sean's memory to raising funds toward the fight against cancer, for others lost too early, and to contribute to the goal of the PMC. Please join me in making a donation here today toward my $11,000 goal. Thank you for your support.
With Gratitude,
Kristin
