This year marks my Second year participating in the PMC, and I've set an ambitious goal of riding 50 miles, doubling the distance from the 25 miles I completed last year. I take on this challenge in honor of my beloved grandmother, Hildy Warren, who bravely fought cancer three times.
My grandmother faced two rounds of breast cancer and one bout of esophageal cancer, enduring immense physical and emotional hardships. Her resilience and determination deeply inspired me. Even during the toughest times, she showed unwavering strength and a fighting spirit that left a lasting impact on me.
Her journey included a remarkable six-month coma, a stark reminder of life's fragility and the importance of cherishing every moment. This experience fueled my commitment to raising awareness and funds for cancer research, aiming to support those currently battling the disease.
Participating in the PMC is my heartfelt tribute to my grandmother's indomitable spirit and my gratitude for her incredible resilience and courage. I'm proud to support the PMC because it is at the forefront of the fight against cancer, with 100% of rider-raised revenue directly supporting the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's relentless efforts to find a cure.
As I bike 50 miles, I carry my grandmother's memory, her strength, and the hope for a future without cancer. Your support means the world to me and greatly contributes to the ongoing fight against this devastating disease. Together, let's make a difference and bring us one step closer to a world without cancer.
