Family, Friends, and Co-workers,
What a difference a year makes. Last year I was writing to share I would need to put my 25th PMC ride on hold because of my Cancer diagnosis. Since that point I’ve endured over 50 days in the hospital, countless chemo & radiation sessions, and a bone marrow transplant.
The past year has been difficult, but the amazing support of family, friends, co-workers, and strangers helped me push through taking things one day at a time.
Now the good news, my last biopsy showed the cancer was in remission. Due to the transplant my recovery journey continues, but I’m happy to report I’m currently cancer free!
Beating Cancer was my first goal, the second was to ride in my 25th PMC. How far will my body hold up I’m not sure, but my hope is at least the eighty-five miles of day one. My plan is to take it one mile at a time, slow and steady!
After a year of treatment at Dana Faber I’ve experienced firsthand how dollars raised by the PMC truly make a difference. One of my treatment options included a clinical trial funded by PMC dollars.
Although I was unable to ride last year together, we raised over 25k pushing our lifetime total to over 276k! This year is a milestone year as the PMC will surpass a billion dollars raised for Cancer research.
The reason I have been able to ride all these years is the result of your amazing generosity and support. My hope is you will join me again this year to raise the critical funds to fight cancer. My efforts are only a small step in the long road to finding a cure but I’m living proof your dollars are helping!
Thank you very much in advance for your support and as always special thanks to family for their support all these years. I could not do it without you.
Thank you,
Jim
