Dear Family and Friends,
It’s been a month since I completed the Pan-Mass Challenge, and I’ve finally had a chance to reflect on what an unforgettable experience it truly was. Riding 170 miles—yes, a few extra thanks to a missed turn and a scenic detour through the stunning Provincetown dunes—pushed me physically and emotionally in ways I hadn’t expected.
But more than the miles, what made this journey truly meaningful was the love and support I felt from all of you. Your encouragement lifted me when my legs were tired and my spirit needed a boost. And the volunteers—wow. They cheered us on with unwavering energy, turned every rest stop into a celebration (complete with music, ice benches, and endless snacks), and made us feel like heroes. I even rediscovered the joy of a childhood favorite: the Fluffernutter sandwich. Somehow, it tasted even better mid-ride.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised just over $18,000—every single dollar going directly to cancer research and patient care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am deeply humbled by your kindness and belief in this cause. Together, we are helping to bring hope and healing to so many.
I’m already looking ahead to next year’s ride, more committed than ever to being part of the cure.
With heartfelt gratitude and love,
Jodi Sisley
Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing to you 1 week before the Pan-Mass bike ride challenge.
It’s already been an incredible journey, fund raising and training prior to the ride on August 2nd/3rd. So far, I have ridden over 1200 miles since the start of my training. Hopefully this training will pay off and propel me to the finish each day. It will still be a challenge to ride 84 miles (day 1) and the 77 miles (day 2), but believe the enthusiasm of the crowds and my love of riding will help me.
I wanted to share - so far, I have received 105 donations raising $14,400 for the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute. My goal was to raise $6,000!!!!!!!!
I feel so humble and grateful having received such incredible support, and wanted to thank you all for your generosity, kind words and positive energy.
Please find a special shout out to those who have supported me and this important cause.
In heartfelt gratitude,
Jodi Sisley

Dear friends and family,
I am thrilled to announce that this August, I will be a proud participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike fundraising event dedicated to bringing us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer. Based in Boston, MA, the Pan-Mass Challenge raises more money for charity than any other athletic fundraising event in the country for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The funds I raise will directly support Dana-Farber's groundbreaking work in the search for cures and better treatments. 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to Dana-Farber—your donation makes a real impact!
Participating in this event has been a personal goal of mine since my Aunty Phyllis passed away from colon cancer. Aunty Phyllis was a remarkable, funny woman (I have some great stories) who was incredibly supportive of me. She would have been so proud to know that, by cycling 160+ miles in just two days, I’ll be raising funds for cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This will be my first Pan-Mass Challenge ride, as the distance and fundraising requirements had previously made me hesitate. Will I be able to ride the 160+ miles from Wellesley to Provincetown? I’ve never ridden my bike that far before—how do I prepare for such a long ride? However, what has felt like apprehension has now turned into action, inspired by Rabbi Hillel’s famous wise words: 'If not now, when?’
By sheer luck, I was invited to join a group of eight incredible women to be part of a team called Grateful Living. Some members have loved ones fighting cancer, while others have endured the deep pain of loss.
I’ve fully embraced the challenge of cycling 160+ miles, and picture my Aunty Phyllis cheering me on with a giant, silly sign along the route.
Since its founding in 1980, the Pan-Mass Challenge riders have raised more than $1 billion for life-saving cancer research, treatment, and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the top cancer care hospitals in the country.
