Why I Ride ...
I am riding for my brother Eric Schwartz who died from glioblastoma in 2017 at the age of 53. Tragically, the life-expectancy of those suffering with this disease is only 11 months - not much different than the prognosis was 30 years ago. But Dr. David Reardon, who heads neuro-oncology at Dana Farber and is the nation’s leading glioblastoma researcher, is trying to change that outcome. I will be riding with the 100-member “CRUS11TOUR” team. The CRUS11TOUR was started by Davey Harvey during his 16-month battle with Glioblastoma before he died at the age of 26. The name is derived from his determination to “crush” this horrible disease and incorporates his lacrosse number, “11,” and his love of golf. Last year, CRUS!!TOUR raised over $900,000 with 100% of the proceeds raised will go specifically to fund Dr Reardon’s research. We plan on crushing that number this year. Please help us cure the brain cancer that took these incredible men from us at far too young an age.
