Riding in the PMC is a way for me to honor far too many people that have been tragically taken from us by this dreadful disease, including my father, both of my grandfathers and my wife’s uncle. This will be my sixth time (after a 6-year hiatus) tackling the two-day route to Provincetown as a member of Team LungStrong, which was founded by Diane Legg, a family friend who was diagnosed with lung cancer over 20 years ago. Diane fought the tough fight for years and was one of the strongest advocates for lung cancer fundraising in New England - Team LungStrong raised over $8 million since 2011 under her leadership and inspiration. Sadly, Diane succumbed to this dreadful disease in December, so it is with heavy hearts that all members of Team Lungstrong will be riding in her honor this year. Stephanie and I are also riding to honor the loved ones we’ve lost to cancer over the years and to do what we can to prevent us from losing anymore.
