Dear Friends and Family,
In less than 2 months, on the weekend of August 5th and 6th, I will be riding in my 21st Pan Mass Challenge (PMC), an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston (www.pmc.org). I will be doing the 2-day, 162 mile version this year, riding from Boston to Provincetown, MA.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, $900 million since 1980 and $69 million in 2022 alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The I've made a personal commitment to ride PMC 2023 and raise $15,000.00. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal. Given my background in Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison, I personally designate my contributions to the Psycho-social Fund at the Dana Farber, to help children with cancer cope emotionally.
It is always mixed feelings that I write a fund-raising letter when there are so many worthy causes to donate one’s resources or time. However, I nevertheless am reaching out to those who may be interested and able to continue to donate to a worthy and necessary cause.
I want to wish everyone the best of health in the coming year as we work with and support one another.
