Ten years, which breaks down to 120 months, 3,652.5 days, or 87,600 hours. That's how long I've been riding the Pan Mass Challenge. It has had its share of challenges - mechnical failures, body failures, and there have been a couple of years when the heat has been so bad I've crossed the finish line with a strange empathy for slow-roasted pork - but the overall experience has been so rewarding I keep coming back for more. And as long as I can ride a bike, I'm going to continue to do this. Kicking cancer's ass into the dirt is far too important otherwise.
As with prior years, I'm relying on your help to meet my fundraising goal. It's $6000 this year, so every donation counts (as does corporate matching - be sure to note for rider JP0400 on the notes for organization section). And as was the case the last three years, everyone who donates will be entered into a woodworking fundraiser. Also as was the case in prior years, if you win you probably won't get the piece until next year. Training for the PMC is practically a full time job.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
As always, I'm grateful for your support. See you on the road!
