I am proud to say that this will be my 9th year riding the PMC!!! Due to a scheduling conflict, I was unable to sign up to ride on the actual PMC weekend. So like I did last year, I am committed to riding the many miles but my own route, during my own time to support this great cause and offer hope. The PMC, and the funds raised for research, give those batting cancer strength but more importantly, hope. Hope towards a cure. Hope towards the words, “you are cancer free”.
I will ride in honor of my mom who, after 8 years gone, I still miss every day. I will ride in honor of all my dear family and friends I mention below and others who battle his disease with courage and hope.
Dana-Farber became near and dear to my heart during my mother’s battle with multiple myeloma where I witnessed the top-notch care, compassion and dignity she received. After losing her, in 2014, that is when my PMC journey began.
To say that cancer has touched us all is an understatement. Cancer plays no favorites What is uplifting among all the destruction of this disease is the ongoing research which is key in lifesaving developments. Dana-Farber physicians and researchers have helped develop many of the very latest therapies — from harnessing the immune system to targeted therapies based on the genetics of your cancer. Which means they can provide the latest and best care, sooner.
As I add another year to this page, I feel incredibly blessed to be able to ride the PMC but more blessed and thankful of your support for the past 8 years. I hope you will consider supporting me again and the lifesaving work of Dana Farber. 100 percent of your donation goes to DFCI through its Jimmy Fund. I may be doing the pedaling but it is YOU that is making a difference, bringing us closer by each mile.
