In 2021, I received news that Dena had cancer, and it was terminal. Her fight began then. Dena and I have been friends for the past two decades. Her ability to take this diagnosis with courage and strength leaves me in awe. Her integrity has given me the power to accept this. Dena’s experience has opened my eyes to how delicate life can be.
Dena and I met through our teammate Micaela. We instantly clicked, and the rest is history. Some of my most memorable and special moments have been with Dean and Mic. I feel incredibly grateful that Dana Farber allows us more time together. They are the reason we all ride this summer to celebrate those alive and remember those who have been lost to this evil disease.
Their dedication to cancer research gives me hope for a future that is cancer free. Dana Farber continues to develop innovative and curated treatments to allow patients to live as normal a life as possible. Dena has continued working, traveled the world, and still is dancing on top of tables. Dena is proof that cancer will not define her.
Dana Farber gives the cancer community hope. Together we can provide those sick and suffering a dream of a world without chemo, radiation, and painful hospital visits. Her fearless attitude, mental strength, and dedication to becoming involved with Pan-Mass Challenge inspire me.
I do not have the words to express how blessed I feel for our team to be able to ride by her side. I appreciate your support and donations in advance and am excited to participate in my second Pan-Mass Challenge.
I will be riding in memory of: Philip Marino, Regina Marino, Michael Marino, and Catherine Marino and celebrate those who have beat cancer: Vincent Marino, Jo Ann Marino, Joanne Marino, and Sandy Marino.
