Why I Ride ...
I ride the PMC because my mother died of cancer too damn young! Since then, and since I started riding, there have been plenty of great “beating cancer” stories, but unfortunately there are far too many “lost the fight” stories.
While my mother is, and always will be the main reason I keep riding, there are literally thousands of others I ride for, or in memory of. The last few years my focus has been on my brother and sister Firefighters, specifically John Bellanti who passed away in February 2021. I remain committed to those Firefighters, because not only will 68% of us be diagnosed with a slew of different cancers, we now know that chemicals in the gear we use to keep us safe while fighting fires are ALSO causing cancer!
So, for Ma, my brother Firefighters, and the thousands of friends effected by cancer, I will keep pedaling. Hopefully you will keep donating.
