Why I Ride ...
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
After many years supporting the Pan-Mass Challenge from the comfort of my recliner I have decided to put my foot on the pedal (of my bike) and join thousands of other riders with the hope of accelerating the cure for cancers.
I am riding as a member of the Dana-Farber Team FLAMES (Fast Legs & Minds Ending Suffering) in honor and memory of my wife Mary’s sister, Eleanor, my sister’s husband, Leonard, my father, and my daughter’s father-in-law. Undoubtedly, it is likely that cancer has touched you in some way…a relative, a friend, a work colleague, or you yourself. Personally, a number of my former colleagues are survivors and are in remission or are currently in treatment at Dana-Farber.
