This year will be my 5th year to ride the Pan Mass Challenge. In the past I have ridden several routes on PMC Weekend including 100 miles from Wellesley to Dighton and back to Wellesley and the route from Wellesley to Provincetown. Last year I was unable to ride due to my hip replacment. It has been a tough recovery from that but with yet more friends diagnosed since I last rode, several facing new cancers after successful treament for one or more prior, and others who have succumbed to the disease want to honor them by once again pedal and pray through my training and to raise money to support research and treatment. Due to the circumstances of my husband's cycling accident when a motorist drove into our lane while we were stopped at an intersection astride our bicycles missing me by inches and hitting him and driving over his foot and ankle, I will be riding a reimagined ride of my own on a day and route not on PMC routes.  He too has ridden the PMC 100 mile ride from Wellesley in 2023. All riders were requried to do reimagined rides in 2020 due to Covid and that year I did three 60 mile rides over 3 days when there were no water stops or restrooms available.  I will share messages to let you know how my 2025 ride goes but know that my dedication to those I honor and that my efforts to support the PMC are no less than the years I rode on PMC weekend. 

I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. I am so grateful to all who donated since my first ride in 2020 helping me raise $31,000 to honor those dear to my heart as well as thousands of others.

Cancer affects each and every one of us in some way. As a nurse for the past 50 years, I have cared for patients and assisted friends with cancer and seen first hand their courage, fears and strength as they face their treatments and therapies. They have inspired me each and every day so I have committed to ride the 2025 Pan Mass Challenge with a reimagined ride and raise $2000 to support their mission to find a cure.
