Family and Friends –
It is true what they say – Time does fly! It is hard to believe this is going to be my 10th consecutive PMC and even more exciting it will be the year the PMC surpasses ONE BILLION in dollars raised for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute– INCREDIBLE!
We all have a loved one, friend or colleague that has received a cancer diagnosis and when my mom (Claudia) and I received her cancer diagnosis back in March of 2013 it was devastating. You cannot help but think the worst and from that point on not a day goes by where cancer does not enter your mind in one way or another. For almost five years, my mom battled Stage IV terminal metastatic breast cancer each and every day with her positive warrior like attitude. Without question, she was the strongest person I knew and her strength and determination was incredibly inspiring. But, my mom took a sudden and very steep decline in January of 2018 and ultimately lost her battle on February 3, 2018. Losing my mom was physically and emotionally heart breaking for me and the hardest thing I have and will ever have to endure. But I know I’m not the first one to lose a mom or loved one to this terrible disease and unfortunately I know I won’t be the last. My hope is that thru continuing to help raise money to fund important cancer research, new treatment protocols will be identified which will lead to more and more patients winning their battles and becoming survivors! So this summer I will be participating in my 10th consecutive PAN MASS CHALLENGE to raise money for life-saving cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
The PAN MASS CHALLENGE (PMC) was founded in 1980 and is an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for life-saving cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and donates 100% of every rider-raised dollar. Over the last 43 years, PMC has raised over $970M Dollars for cancer research!
Once again, I am beyond grateful for all the support and extreme generosity you all have given me and the cancer community over the past several years. I hope you will consider making a donation to my 2023 PMC ride as we continue on the quest to find a cure for cancer and raise money for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible and all contributions, regardless of amount are greatly appreciated as it all counts!
Thanks in advance for your donations in helping support this great cause!
