I'm thrilled to be biking in the 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for the type of cancer research that has saved my fiance, Nick's life. The PMC is a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country to bring us closer to a cancer cure.

In October 2023, Nick was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer. What followed was 10 months of intensive treatment, including daily chemo, monthly lumbar punctures, and too many blood transfusions to count. We've been lucky to have an incredible team of doctors at the forefront of cancer research. Despite this, however, Nick has faced unthinkable challenges, including his liver going into acute failure in reaction to his treatment, and nearly losing his life to the complications.

We're so happy to report that Nick is on the mend - he's completed intensive chemo and shifted to maintenance treatment, which has allowed him to return almost entirely to normal life (he's even back in the crossfit gym!). Despite having endured some of the hardest days of our lives, we know that we're the lucky ones. So many others before us haven't been as fortunate in their fight with cancer, and I want to do everything I can to secure better outcomes for those who come after us.

To date, PMC riders have raised more than $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's top cancer care hospitals. The funds I raise support the innovative work of doctors, nurses, and scientists in their search for cures for cancers and related diseases.
