Why I Ride ...
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. The PMC began in 1980 and through its inception has raised nealy $1B in total donations for the sole purpose of working to eradicate cancer through research and trials. This year the PMC has set a $75M goal as it expects to crest and pass the $1B mark with over 6,000 riders transcending on MA from all over the world to show their support be rewarded for the efforts in raising money for this awful disease by riding all or some of the 192 journey from Sturbridge, MA (Berkshire Mountains) to Provincetown, MA (Cape Cod).
This is my inaugural effort of the PMC and I'll be riding the 82 mile Wellesley to Bourne, MA leg as part of a 7 person team from Pilgrim Church in Sherborn, MA who warmly welcomed me this year to join their efforts! We have a 5 year-old pedal partner named Chloe who we are dedicating our ride to as she continues to fight against her battle with cancer. Whether you have been directly effected, or indirectly know a relative or friend who is suffering, has suffered or has succumbed to cancer your donation to the PMC allows you to be involved directly to fight this affliction with hopes of someday eliminating or curing cancer.
I'll be riding for Chloe and many others I have known in the past and, specifically, I'll be riding in memory of one of my mother's great friends - Phyllis who passed away in early 2024 after her fight with cancer. I hope you will join me in this fight with a donation at whatever level you feel comfortable contributing.
Warmly,
Jeff Griffor
