Here comes year 4!! I’m proud to support the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a pioneering force in the fight against cancer. After surpassing the incredible milestone of one billion dollars in event history fundraising in 2024, the PMC continues to be a driving force for change in the battle against cancer.
My ride is dedicated to the countless patients, families, and caregivers affected by cancer, especially to my wife, Laura (Lau) Ginnis. Her story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that cancer does not have to be the end. I also ride in memory of my father, Andrew Ginnis, and my grandmother, Beatrice Ginnis, who both passed away due to this disease.
In November 2016, just three weeks before my father passed away from metastatic prostate cancer, Lau was diagnosed with advanced endometrial cancer and leiomyosarcoma at MGH. Despite the devastating news, her medical team was hopeful thanks to recent research on treating Lynch Syndrome, a genetic disorder that they believed contributed to her cancer.
Earlier that year, Johns Hopkins conducted a groundbreaking trial of the immunotherapy drug Keytruda, which showed promising results for Lynch Syndrome patients. Lau, who also carries the BRCA I gene, responded remarkably to the treatment and was cancer-free almost immediately after starting. She completed her two-year regimen and recently crossed her 5-year anniversary since ending treatment. Her medical team believes she’s on track to be a long-term survivor. A diagnosis just a year earlier could have led to a very different outcome.
Lau’s journey is extraordinary, but it’s not over. Many others continue to face the challenges of cancer every day.
Right after Lau’s diagnosis, we learned about Stefanie Joho, a young woman whose sister’s perseverance led her to the same Johns Hopkins trial that saved Lau’s life. The Washington Post beautifully captured her story, and it continues to inspire us. [Read the story here.]

This year, I’ll be riding with my friend Marcus Springer and his team, The Turkey Hill Gang. We’ll be riding in the PMC to raise funds and support the fight against cancer, and I’m thrilled to be part of this team. I look forward to the unforgettable experience ahead.
Thank you for supporting my ride, and for supporting the fight against cancer. Your generosity helps fund the vital research and treatment that make stories like Lau's possible.
