As many of you know Geoffrey, who bravely battled and beat Pediatric Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2018, will be joining me on this year’s PMC ride. He’s not just riding with me; he’s poaching my donor list!
Since his diagnosis and treatment at Dana Farber and Boston Children’s Hospital, Geoffrey has achieved incredible milestones. He graduated from BB&N High School (on time) and recently graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications and Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He’s now settled in Manhattan with his girlfriend Kait. As they say; He is 'living his best life'.
None of this would have been possible without the years of research, clinical trials, and funding that supported Geoffrey’s specific type of cancer. Now, it’s my turn to give back. Every year, I ride 200 miles on ‘PMC Weekend’ to raise funds for cancer research and treatment for the cancers that don’t have prognoses that are as favorable as the kind of cancer that Geoffrey had..
This year’s ride is extraordinarily special for two reasons. This year I will be riding with Team Perini. Supporting the David B. Perini Jr. Quality of Life Clinic at Dana Farber, where Geoffrey receives his post-treatment care. Second (and this is the big news) Geoffrey is riding the full 200 miles with me, alongside Team Perini! He’s been training rigorously, he has put in 3x more training miles than I have.
