In June 2010 I was diagnosed with a rare-type of cancer
called myxoid liposarcoma. Since June I
have undergone three biopsies, one surgery, two courses of radiation, three
courses of chemotherapy (4-rounds of AIM, 5-rounds of Yondelis, 2-rounds of
Navolbine), and countless MRI Scans, CT Scans and X-Rays.
Still today I remain a fighter in the battle against this
incurable disease. Every day is a fight
and every day brings a new struggle. I
fight for my family and my friends and for the hope that one day there will be
a cure to this terrible disease so that I too may live a long a fruitful life.
I've chosen raising donations through the Pan-Mass Challenge
associated with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as some of the best sarcoma
research is coming out of the facilities here in Boston and these PMC tools ensure
that your donations can be directed towards researching my specific disease.
There is some exciting Liposarcoma-Specific Research occurring right now that
will come to fruition in the coming months but research dollars are scarce, as
government funds are typically used for the more well-known cancers.
Please donate by clicking the link to "Support My
Page" and don't forget to leave a message. Your donation WILL make a
difference!
My family has designed bracelets that say "Breathe in
Hope, Breathe out Love" for all those who donate to the cause. Please
email guyerdfw@aol.com and include your name, address and # of bracelets you
would like to receive.
Thank you so much for your support!
