Why I Ride ...
Ten years ago I stood on the road dressed in the most ridiculous red outfit I have ever worn. I high-fived the sweaty palms of strangers as they rode, patiently waiting for my aunts and uncles to ride by. This is a memory that has shaped my summers for the past nine years. Every year, the first week of August my family gets on the side of the road to cheer on riders in our most ridiculous red outfits. But this is not why we do this, we ride to make a change for the families that have children fighting DIPG, so no one else has to go through what my cousins, Aunt and Uncle had to go through. I ride for the third year in memory of my cousin, Evan, who could not do it himself and to support research for DIPG cancer through the Evan T. Mandeville DIPG Research Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
