Dear friends,
The weekend of August 5th, I will be back at it, riding the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), and fighting cancer. Together with the PC Guys, a group of friends from Providence College, I am riding to support critical research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), and to honor the memory of our good friend Justin Teague.
My brush with skin cancer, which concluded with successful Mohs surgery in January, reinforced my determination to ride again this year, and to continue the fight against cancer in all forms. So did the loss of friends to cancer this year, like PC ’94 grad Dave Johnson, a kind soul who is gone too soon.
Because of your generosity, our team has raised more than $700,000 since 2010. Thank you for being part of this important achievement.
PMC donations are tax deductible and 100% will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Pan-Mass Challenge only uses your personal information tothank youand will not share it with any other organizations. The PMC's tax ID / EIN is 04-2746912.
More about the PMC:
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, $900 million since 1980 and $69 million in 2022 alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Here’s another reason to support my PMC fundraising: With a donation of $50 or more, you can save 5% on any new or existing Massachusetts MAPFRE Insurance auto policy. Once you donate, just forward your receipt to your insurance provider who can take it from there.
In closing, I truly appreciate your friendship and support for this worthy cause.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Very truly yours,
Joe Downes

Me, Justin, Carda
