This August, I am participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a bike-a-thon dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I will be riding with Team Samantha, named in honor of Samantha Janower, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of three and is now a middle school teacher.

This cause is deeply personal to me. A close family friend was diagnosed three years ago with an oligodendroglioma, a type of brain tumor. Remarkably, she is currently in law school and has just completed her most recent round of chemotherapy.
