On August 2nd and 3rd I'm honored to be riding in my 2nd Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) as part of Team Daisy/Summit Partners. The PMC is a 2-day cycling event and the world’s single most successful athletic fundraiser, benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC has exceeded $1 billion raised since its founding in 1980.

Summit has a longstanding tradition of participating in the PMC, originating with the firm's dearly missed friend and colleague, Joe Trustey. Joe brought Summit to Team Daisy, a riding group created by his neighbor, Pete Locke. The group was formed in honor of Pete's daughter Daisy, who was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor at the age of just two. Since 1997, Team Daisy has raised more than $5 million for cancer research. Sadly, both Daisy and Pete passed away in 2024.

On a personal note, I will be riding in memory of my grandmother, Ricky Silberman, who lost her battle to breast cancer in February of 2007, at the age of 69, after treatment at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. I got my love of cooking, reading, and adventures on the Chesapeake Bay from Grandma, and if she were still with us, I know that she would be so thrilled to support Dana-Farber in their mission.
