Dear Friends and Family,
Some of my most significant and earliest memories are of cheering
for my Dad in the Pan Mass Challenge, a 192-mile bike ride from Sturbridge to
Provincetown that raises money for cancer research. Every year, my family and I made the trek to
Truro, MA and stayed at the Blue Sea Motor Inn, excited for our dad to complete
the bike ride. We gathered at the edge of the streets and congratulated the 4,000
riders for their accomplishments and commitments as they approached the finish
line. As a six year old, it was just fun to be part of the crowd, make signs, and
cheer for the riders as they sped by.
As I have gotten older, I now realize the importance of this ride
and the tremendous impact that cancer has on our society. The PMC funding has
supported critical research that has led to important scientific breakthroughs
and methods in cancer treatment. It is a strong organization in which 100% of
the donations go directly to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This is my very first PMC ride, and it will certainly be a great
challenge for me, yet I am excited to do my part in spreading awareness,
raising funds and training for the event.
I am inspired by my dad, the millions of other PMC riders, and those
battling with cancer to join the fight and complete the ride in August.
I kindly ask for any contributions in support of my Pan-Mass
Challenge ride this summer and ultimately a cure for cancer.
Thank you very much for your support and generosity, as it is
truly appreciated! :)
Jenny
