As many of you know, I lost my mother to Lung Cancer when I was 7 years old. Even at this young age, I could see how much she struggled everyday. Her fight and her love inspired and empowered me all the way back then, and still does today. This is why I will be riding 163 miles for her in the Pan-Mass Challenge this upcoming summer. To make this ride a successful one, I am asking for your help in the form of donations. I will be riding for team LungStrong, who rides specifically for those who suffered, are suffering, and even those who will suffer from lung cancer. We are all at risk of getting lung cancer. Lung cancer kills over 150,000 people each year in the U.S. - more than breast, colon, prostate and melanoma cancers combined! Half of those diagnosed today do not smoke, dispelling the myth it's a disease only affecting smokers. Unfortunately, it's this myth that causes lung cancer research to be one of the most underfunded. Team LungStrong uses the money they raise completely towards Lung Cancer research. I have personally seen the facilities and progress this money has resulted in first hand, and it’s truly life-changing. My dad, who also will be riding with me, has witnessed the research this money has gotten, save lives! I hope you can support me on my ride by helping me reach my goal, and spread my message.
