PMC 2023

i ride in memory of my beloved parents who both were the reipient of cancer. My mother succeed to it at the young age of 68, my dad, a WW2 veteran made it to 98.5. There are a whole myriad of reasons why I continue to ride, my neice who had breast cancer at 32, but thankfully is doing well. Our pedal partners are my main inspiration, seeing these children who in many cases are quite I'll prompts me to pedal harder to help them.

i recently had a very severs case of Covid. I was hospitalized for 6 months, coma for 2 months, intubated also, then rehabbed for an additional 3 months. Cancer did not go on hiatus because I was sick, neither did or will I. At Dana -Farbernew drugs are being formed, tested & used. We are make progress in the extensive research involved. There are over 500 different types of cancer, and the cancer cells are very smart, researchers are unlocking those cancer cell brains and are developing ways to make them ineffective.

This year I ride for one of my 61year old college buddies who succumbed to cancer. I also ride for another friend who was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

My PMC life began in 1989, that year my mother had lost her battle with ovarian cancer. The previous year my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, sadly, this year I ride in his memory, he was 28 year survivor. ??My father is responsible for volunteering me into the PMC, in year 1 I was a volunteer at the Easton lunch stop (under 1000 riders). That weekend it rained relentlessly, it was at that time that I made a promise to myself to be on a bike for 1990's pan mass. I wanted to do this event just 1 time, mainly to honor my mother’s memory.. Fast-forward to 28 years later, I'm hooked my life does revolve around this, my e-mail address is even cycle200.??I told my 20 year-old son that he can take over the reigns in 1 year, but I'm sure we'll ride together. This is not only a great event, but for someone like me, who has lost loved ones, it is a very cathartic experience. My son and I now donate platelets together at Dana ~ Farber. When we ride the PMC, we ride as a family of 6500 plus, we are becoming the goliath and cancer will soon be the David!! I ride for the patriot platelet peddlers, 150+strong.

In December 2012,our pedal partner, Charlotte Rose Kelly succumbed to her cancer. Charlotte was just 5 years young and spent nearly half of her short life in the hospital. I along with my teammates the Patriot Platelet Peddlers will ride in her memory.? A What we strive for, WORLD WITHOUT CANCER, that's the goal!! Please contribute whatever you can.
