Why I Ride ...
I first rode the PMC in 2007 with my friend Andy Luster and the Boston Red Sox "Team 9." Not being a baseball fanatic myself, it was tricky along the way when other cyclists, seeing my Team 9 jersey, shouted questions about the previous day's score or next day's pitching lineup. With some coaching from Andy though, I was eventually able to
come up with the answers. The Team 9 gang was a committed, spirited and supportive group. My wife, Jenny, joined me for the 2008 ride and we are now regular training buddies.
The exhilaration and personal interactions of the PMC ride are hard to describe. It is wonderful to spend two days with thousands of other bikers, all with the common goal of helping the Jimmy Fund. In talking with them, it is clear that many have been touched by cancer in one way or another. I am 100% supportive of the Jimmy Fund and really glad to be able to help the cause.
Biomedical research is very expensive and federal funding is tighter than ever. Last year I was extremely grateful that my sponsors contributed $4,000 to the PMC cause. My goal for 2009 is $4,200. Thank you to all of you who are so kind as to help me reach that goal!
