Dear Friends and Family,
This August 3rd I will be riding 85 miles for the Pan Mass Challenge from Wellesley to Bourne on Cape Cod. In this single weekend, the PMC will raise more money for cancer treatment and research than any other single athletic event in the U.S. My goal to raise $18,000, though lofty, is nothing compared to what patients, researchers and doctors at the Dana-Farber Institute are doing each and every day.
My reasons for riding are vast and in some ways long overdo.
I ride in memory of my beloved sister in law, Jill Sisenwine Berger, who was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in the span of only three short months at the age of 38. That was 16 years ago.
I ride in gratitude for the past 9 years of life I have been blessed with since my own diagnosis and surgery at Dana-Farber.
I ride in honor of those I love who are still in the fight and in memory of those I never knew.
I ride with hope and faith in the incredible achievements both present and future of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and its doctors, researchers and staff. They work every day to put an end to this horrific disease that has tragically affected so many whom I love.
I ask you to donate what you can to partner with me and the thousands of other riders as we together put an end to cancer.
With love and gratitude,
Heidi
