When I was three years old, I lost my cousin Andrew DeLuca to a form a childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. He was only 6. Andrew and his battle with cancer forever changed my life. It is why I am a nurse. Andrew was incredibly kind, sweet and caring. I remember he always wanted everyone to be happy and would be silly or give candy or little gifts or hugs to make me smile. There was little known about this disease in 2005 and the survivial rates was very low. Now almost 20 years later, with more funding and research available the survival rates have increased. This was possible due to generous people like you who donate to such a special cause like the PMC.

My family and I have been involved in various ways with the PMC since Andrew's diagnosis. Every year I look forward to this event because of how special it is. Thousands of riders, families, volunteers and survivers come together as one to raise money to kick cancers butt!! I am excited to be riding from Wellesley to Bourne this year to help raise money and support this cause.

No one should ever have to go through something as horrible as childhood cancer or any other type of cancer.
