Why I Ride ...
After four years of riding I had to miss last year after I spent four and a half months in the hospital before the final diagnosis of expanded bladder cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I have gone through six rounds of chemo and am slowly regaining strength and stamina. My hope, and plan, is to accelerate this once I can get back on my bike this spring. In any case, we will be only riding one day this year in a nod to my reduced strength level. So, I am definitely riding to support Dana-Farber without whose expertise I might not be here today. In addition, I am riding in support of my daughter, Jennifer, who has been under treatment at Dana-Farber for ovarian cancer for the past seven years. I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. I hope that you will be able to support my ride and goal of raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
