This year I will be riding in The Pan Mass Challenge for the sixth time. The PMC is a two-day ride covering over 190 miles to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI).
Over a year ago, my father was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. Lung Cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths in the US and globally.
My dad worked tirelessly as a doctor for 40 years and he has always been incredibly passionate about the PMC. He participated in the challenge 8 times (4 of those times with me) and raised over $50,000 for DFCI in the process. Additionally, he convinced numerous friends to ride which increased the donations to DCFI even further. He is now a patient of DFCI and receiving excellent care, as DFCI is a pioneer when it comes to targeted treatments for lung cancer. Without the DFCI he might not be here today.
His story is just one example of DFCI's impact on patients. Over the years, DFCI has led groundbreaking cancer research and provided exceptional patient care. Their impact is too big to quantify and it is made possible through their partnership with the PMC.
Since 1980, the PMC has raised an astounding $975 million for DFCI, with $72 million raised in 2023 alone! This success is thanks to countless riders and supporters who care deeply about finding a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
My goal is to raise $30,000 this year to put my lifetime fundraising for the PMC at $100,000. Please help me achieve or exceed this goal as none of us are immune from this terrible disease.
THANK YOU!
