Dear Friends and Family,
It’s time for my 8th Pan Mass Challenge!! This is an exciting time of year. It’s an event, which I’m completely dedicated to. I continue to be humbled by the many volunteers and riders who share the common goal of raising money for cancer research. I'm grateful to be alive, but still, far too many good people are not as fortunate as me. I lost my friend Jay this year to cancer. He was a young man with a world of potential and seemingly, much of his life in front of him. Unfortunately, his potential was never realized as his life was cut short. This year I’m riding in memory of Jay.
2016 will mark my eighth year riding in the Pan Mass Challenge. June 28th will mark my 9th year in remission.
I’ve committed myself once again to training and raising as many donations as I can. It’s always a challenge to fundraise, but nothing like the challenge that so many children and adults face 24 hours a day once diagnosed with cancer. I know, I've experienced this challenge.
Each year I dedicate myself to this event. I'm very encouraged by the strides that have happened in cancer research. There are more and more survivors. Cancer won’t go away anytime soon, but each year sometimes-small steps, sometimes-large steps are being made. It's a challenging journey.
I wish all of you could experience the PMC weekend. It shows the good that can be done when there’s a collective effort. During the weekend of the ride, I get the opportunity
to meet many survivors. Some are riders, and many are volunteers. Regardless of their degree of involvement, all are grateful to be alive and all of them are thankful for your support.
I am committed to raising as much as I can by August 3 of this year. It’s tough asking people for money, but I believe in this cause and I take the ride and the fund raising very seriously. Through the continued
effort of all those involved in the PMC, we will prevail.
I'm asking for a donation...whatever your budget will allow. Your tax deductible check
can be made payable to the Pan Mass Challenge or the Jimmy Fund. If you'd like to pay by check, mail your donation to me
directly. If you'd like to donate online, go to PMC.org, and select donate to a rider. Type in my name, and you'll be good to go.
Kind Regards-
Glenn Gallo
