Hi family, friends and colleagues,
As many of you know, I have been immersed in triathlon training with the goal of completing a full Ironman. Others may recall my past commitment to cancer research fundraising through Swim Across America. As I keep training, I have returned to that cause, this time via a different discipline and through an even more dear organization.
This August, I'll be joining my uncle and cousins in the Pan Mass Challenge—a two-day, nearly 200-mile bike ride aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat cancer. The funds raised will benefit two impactful charities: The Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This cause holds special significance for me; my cousin, who will ride alongside me, triumphed over childhood cancer with the support of these organizations, and was cured by the hospital they benefit. Since his recovery, my uncle Hal (his father) has been a steadfast supporter of these charities, participating in this ride for over 25 consecutive years. You can read about their story here.
While my cousin overcame his battle, the memory of our grandfather serves as a poignant reminder that the fight against cancer persists. Research remains our most powerful weapon in this battle, yet it requires significant funding. This is why last year 100% of PMC rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. This year, I have personally committed to raise $6,000.
If you'd like to support my mission and contribute to this vital cause, any donation—from $20 to $200—would be greatly appreciated. As a career salesman, I've make a fair share of financial requests, but this one feels especially meaningful!
Gratefully,
Gray
