I ride to honor and remember the true champions who fought bravely but lost their battle to this curse called cancer. First and foremost, I ride to honor our beloved Jacqueline Kashmira (1993 - 2011). I also ride for Cyrus D., Mary C., David Perini, Jr., and Maddie M. And, I ride for my best childhood friend, Mahmud H., and how he was taken from his family during the course of Jacqueline’s illness, also by cancer. Very selfishly, I constantly think about our precious Jacqueline Kashmira … and how much I long to hug and hold her every day. We love and miss you, Boo!

I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading the charge to beat cancer. Each year 100% of rider-raised funds go directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding cures for all forms of cancer.

Starting in 2023, I am enthusiastic to be joining my friends Lisa & Stuart Patterson's Team PopSciCycles to raise money for the McGraw/Patterson Division for Population Sciences at DFCI. For the last 10+ years, I was proud to be a part of Team Perini which supports the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic at DFCI. Jacqueline and David, Jr. both succumbed – after valiant battles – to Osteosarcoma and Ewing’s Sarcoma, respectively (two closely related bone cancers that usually afflict teenagers or young adults).

Going forward with 2023, 40% of my fundraising dollars will be allocated to pediatric cancer research, 40% to the McGraw/Patterson Division for Population Sciences, and 20% to the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic. No matter which team I ride with the eventual dollars all get allocated to DFCI, and we are all committed to the same cause: rid the world of the many forms of this insidious curse, known as cancer!
