Why I Ride .
This is my third year riding the PMC and I am psyched to be a part of it again. I ride to help enable cancer patients to take some control of their treatment by getting access to integrative therapies at the Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies at Dana Farber. When my dad was sick, he realized how key therapies like massage, accupuncture, and reiki were in empowering him through his treatment. He wanted to make them available, affordable, and easy to access for all patients who wanted and needed them. He worked on this for years and shortly after he passed away, it became a reality. I ride to keep it going and make sure his dream continues to be a reality that helps patients today and in the future. I ride to keep his legacy alive. Thankfully my mom's passion for the Zakim Center, and that of other supporters and advocates, has kept it going strong for 18 years. I also ride to support her in supporting the life-changing work of the Center. The opening of the new, comforting, accessible center was thrilling and I know my dad would be proud to see how far the Zakim Center has come. Thank you for considering supporting the Zakim Center. No donation is too small! I appreciate it and will ride hard for it!
Please check out the special video below, to get a peek into the work of the center and into what drove my dad to create it.
