It's 2023 and my big fat arse is on the bike again! I'll be proudly and humbly riding for my 9th time with my team, Forza-G. Cancer doesn't stop and neither do I ! This year I'll be riding the PMC Unpaved route, a 1 day gravel bike ride through Western MA and Eastern NY state. It's a different ride, but its still a hard ride, requiring a lot of training, and its part of the bigger PMC fundraising effort, so all the funds I raise still go in the big PMC bucket just like prior years. The need for the funds that fuel the research that finds the cures is more important than ever. Your donations are vital! I'm committed to raise as much money as possible to help fight cancer. The researchers working to find cures depend on your donations to fund the science that leads to the cures.
I've toured the Dana Farber campus and once I saw the incredible work and difference they make, I had to keep the committment. Every donation counts and goes 100% to support the effort to find a cure. Cancer has impacted nearly every family I know and I ride in memory of my Uncle Teddy, who was taken too soon. I also ride in memory of the lost loved ones of my donors, and also to celebrate the Living Proof riders on my team. They're the folks who looked cancer in the eyes and won the fight and now ride and raise money so that others can win their fight. Please consider donating to my ride to help with the race to a cure, and to support the amazing efforts of Dana-Farber, the Jimmy Fund, and the PMC.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. 100% of rider-raised funds- the money you donate- goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. I've committed to raising money for cancer research for the 2023 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston.
I hope I can count on your support
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, over $550 million since 1980 and $69 million last year alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to DFCI.
Please ask your Human Resources department if they have a matching gift program and follow their process for a matching donation. Your donation is tax deductible and 100% will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. To learn more about the Pan-Mass Challenge, please visit www.pmc.org.
Every donation brings us closer by the mile. On behalf of the staff and patients at DFCI, cancer patients around the world for whom Dana-Farber research is lifesaving, and all our collective aspirations for a world without cancer, thank you.
