It finally feels like we are on the other side of the COVID pandemic…. AND while we were all forced to pause and slow down, quarantine, work and learn remotely, mask and vaccinate, and essentially survive this crazy new world…..
CANCER MARCHED ON- IT NEVER TOOK A BREAK! Loved ones were diagnosed; some are battling, some battled and came out the other side and some we’ve lost.
After 2 years of virtual, reimagined rides, thousands of PMC pedalers and volunteers are back on the road this August in our crusade against cancer. There is still much work to be done and we need to do it together.
This year my Dad, Emily and I will be riding together and raising funds for the Jimmy Fund! It will be my dad’s 30th consecutive ride, Emily’s 1st ride and my 9th ride! The PMC has been a way of life for our family. Over the past 30 years, our family has collectively ridden 53 rides, raised a total of $327,469 and put in countless days of volunteering (GO NUNU!) and cheering along the route. We will do the hard work of training and riding and volunteering…..we ask you to help out and donate whatever you can.
Our fundraising commitments are significant this year ($18,000 for the 3 of us). Last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
CANCER never ceases and until we find a cure…. We are committed to riding and raising for your people, for our people and because one day you or I may find ourselves on the other side.
Thank you
PS…. it feels like my list gets longer and longer each year and touches a little closer…. This year my warrior list includes… a high school friend, a bestie, a co-worker friend, a neighbor friend, 2 mothers of two of my students, a nurse friend, a besties step-dad ….
