Dear family and friends,
I actually thought that I might not be able to ride this year as I slipped in December while in my bike cleats. The fall resulted in a torn rotator cuff and surgery in March.
Despite this setback, I just had a post op visit with my surgeon who assured me that I could get back on my bike! I was surprised but delighted, and today took my first ride. And man did it feel great! I am grateful that I will be able to participate this year and again have registered to ride in the “reimagined ride.” I also hope to be able to ride in 2026 as i turn 80, making it my Grand Finale.
Once again my riding buddy and I will do the “reimagined ride,” which continues to be an option offered by PMC ever since covid restricted the possibility of 6,000 riders biking together. This means we can ride when and where we want. Since the start of the reimagined ride option, we have been riding to Bass River and back. ( 95 miles)
The goal, of course, is to continue to support Dana Farber in their research and effort to combat cancer, save lives and deliver hope to so many. Last summer’s ride, despite so many choosing the “reimagined ride” raised a staggering 75 million dollars and PMC has now reached over billion dollars in total. The PMC raises more money for cancer research than any other athletic/charitable event in our country. The best part is that 100% of your donation goes directly to Dana Farber. To this end I am asking for any contribution possible.
You may contribute on line at http://pmc.org/egifts/DS0309 or by
accessing my profile page at http://profile.pmc.org/DS0309
Or if you prefer, you can mail me a check made out to Dana Farber and I will deposit it in my PMC fund. Any contribution is much appreciated and brings us “closer by the mile.”

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Fondly,
Dilys
