Team Duncan | Dakota Rabbitt
Year 3!
On my first day at Colby College, I was lucky enough to find Alec Finigan in my orientation group. Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to his wonderful mother, Duncan. Through the ups and downs of our college days and Colby baseball careers, Duncan became a constant presence of love and support: whether it was as small as making sure the buffalo chicken wraps from our favorite cafe were in ample representation at our tailgates or as important as offering to introduce us to her professional contacts to find internships and start our careers. I have always been struck by Duncan’s ability to invest so much time and effort into her sons’ friends while managing her own impressive career, training for marathons, and spending countless hours in the car on the way to baseball games.
Following Duncan’s stage 4 metastatic breast cancer diagnosis in 2014, she put all her might into raising money to find a cure. The Pan-Mass Challenge is the cornerstone and most important fundraising event and this year I’m riding as part of Team Duncan. 100% of donations to our team go directly to support breast cancer research at Dana Farber.

Duncan lost her battle in 2019, but her impact on helping find a cure will be felt for decades for come. I can think of no better way to honor the legacy of such an impactful mentor and friend than participating in the 2-day PMC ride that was so important to her.
Please consider donating to my ride!
