I’m riding in the 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge in honor of my mother, my hero, and my riding partner, Tara, who beat cancer 12 years ago. This year marks her 12th PMC and her second as a proud member of Team Domestiques. She rides because SHE CAN—and because so many others still can’t.

• Those we’ve lost and those still fighting.
• In honor of my colleague and friend Scott Freeman, who passed away late 2024.
• In memory of Mike Pyburn, who we lost in 2020.
• And for every future patient not yet diagnosed.

My mother is living proof that the research and care provided by the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute are working. She is one of the lucky ones—and more people are joining her ranks as survivors every single day.

Over the past five years, I’ve added names to the list of those I ride for. And while that list has grown, so has my hope. I truly believe that the future will look different—that one day, a cancer diagnosis won’t carry the fear it does today. Because breakthroughs are happening. Progress is real.

I’m incredibly grateful to the researchers, doctors, and supporters whose work has made it possible for me to ride next to my mom, and for my sons to grow up with a healthy, loving, and active Lala in their lives. I ride to do my small part to make sure others receive the same gift.
