My brother John and I are riding the PMC this year to honor our late father, Dr. Paul Plotz. I hope you'll consider supporting my ride by making a fully tax-deductible contribution to support Dana Farber's pediatric cancer research. The PMC contributes every single penny of rider-raised contributions--every penny you'd donate--to directly support cancer research through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
Pa died in January from Alzheimer's disease. He devoted his life to researching and treating cruel muscle diseases like myositis. Since his death, we've been showered with messages of thanks from patients he treated, younger doctors he mentored, and scientists he collaborated with. Pa believed that improving health and happiness through medical research was the very best investment a nation could make in its citizens. He'd love the PMC, since every dollar raised by our ride goes directly to medical research that makes lives longer and healthier.
I'm also riding to support Dmitri Itzkovitz, the son of my friend Dan Itzkovitz. Dmitri is one of thousands of kids who benefits from the pediatric brain cancer research done by Dana-Farber.
I hope you'll pledge to support my ride and Dana-Farber's research on behalf of kids like Dmitri. Please click on one of the buttons above to make a tax-deductible contribution.
I also want to note that Pa loved cycling, way before it was cool to love it. In the mid-70s, when no one was biking to work, he biked to NIH a couple days a week. His 50-year-old 10-speed is still in the garage, unrideable but proud.
Thank you,
David
