Hello Friends, Family and Kind-Hearted Acquaintances!
I hope you this letter finds you healthy, happy, and looking forward to warmer, longer days! I am looking forward to longer evenings, spending more time with friends and family... and logging time on my bike training for the Pan Mass Challenge 2025!
This will be my 15th year riding, and I am as committed as ever to raising awareness and money for this great cause. The PMC has raised $1.047 billion for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since it's launch in 1980. Today, the PMC is the single largest contributor to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund and is responsible for 60% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Their hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers the necessary resources to discover cures for cancer.
I am again proud to be riding with Team Brainstorms, in support of my friends Jeremy and Stephanie Vail and their son Declan. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor almost 5 years ago, and has endured chemotherapy, brain surgeries, medical procedures, tests, and seizures ever since. Thanks to excellent care, to meet him you'd never know it... he's a typical rambunctious 7-year-old keeping his parent and little brother on their toes! And we want to keep him that way by raising money to fund research on the genetic mutation of the FGFR1 gene that caused his tumor. Our goal is to raise $100,000 over the next few years for the Declan Vail BrainStorms for a Cure Fund.
So, on Saturday, August 2, thousands of riders will bike 87 miles from Babson College in Wellesley to Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, and I will be one of them. As I say each year, the ride is a privilege and only a symbolic gesture… it means NOTHING without your support.
If you have the means and are willing, the link to my donation page is: https://donate.pmc.org/DP0162 or helpful links are included below. Hopefully, we can all find some time and some money to continue to support this life saving work.
Please feel free to forward this note to anyone who might be willing to contribute. Dana Farber needs every penny... and so do I!
Many Thanks,
Dan P.
