Why I Ride ...
This year will mark my 17th year participating in the Pan Mass Challenge, and not a year has passed without us all understanding it's purpose, how much pain Cancer has put many of us through, or how many miles I put on my bicycle to pedal for a cure!
This year we've assembled a team of 10 riders (three of which are children of mine). Our cumulative total will exceed $700k since I started the team in 2004, with our 3-5 yr goal of $1M in reach! I'll still be in my 50's when we reach that goal, with total miles of cycling close to 40,000 miles!
With the Covid 19 pandemic not allowing us to ride safely as 5000 riders, the PMC has asked us to forge on, and re-imagine our PMC!
To us, this means at minimum my family will jump on the bikes and ride 192 miles on our own.The plan is for early September, as the heat will be milder, and hopfully the rodes will be safer. Each family within our team will be doing the same (a re-imagined ride), although we're not ruling out the 10 of us riding together in September.
SO many things up in the air for all of us, but rest assured, we'll be riding 192 miles in 2-days, and earning our fundraising!
